A Christmas Story, The Musical premiered in Kansas City with a completely different set of writers. Benj and Justin were brought in to re-do it, and that production premiered at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. That production (with only minor tweaks), is what then went on tour and to Broadway. There were minor changes between Seattle-Tour-Broadway, but nothing too significant. Most of the changes happened during previews in Seattle.

Just to clarify my statement, they are writing the score for a musical based on the 2010 documentary Make Believe which followed 6 kids competing in a magic competition. This is 100% without a doubt the show they are working on with Disney.
^No. Justin is straight and married, and Benj is out and I think single.
Jay in Chelsea, thank you for asking that. I was curious and someone watching the Tonys with me said they were together. I appreciate having that misinformation corrected.
"you know, like Jimmy and Kyle..."
They also wrote some of the Hit List songs!
Also, does anyone know if they are currently the youngest people ever nominated for score?

Pasek and Paul are both 28. Stephen Schwartz was 25 when he was nominated for Pippin. Looks like "Best Score" was not a separate category in 1958 when West Side Story was nominated for Best Musical, but Sondheim was listed as a nominee under Best Musical at age 28. Jason Robert Brown WON for Parade at 28. Any other examples people can think of that are younger? And is Jason the youngest to ever win Best Score?
Benj Pasek was 27 when he was nominated. He turned 28 yesterday.

Lin-Manuel Miranda was also 28 when he won in 2008.
Side note: I don't know which is which, but Pasek and Paul are REALLY hot. And them being talented doesn't hurt.
Carry on :)
I'm sure all of you have heard since it's been announced, could they possibly be composing for the "in works" production of The Muppets?

wow, how oblivious are people on this board, ok for the THIRD TIME! They are writing a score for a musical based on the 2010 magic competition documentary Make Believe, but please ask again and again and again what they are working on.
Maybe they're working on a musical about Walt Disney?
Anyone know what documentary they're working on with Disney?
Maybe it's one of those nature movies Disney makes.
No, it's about witches that smash things. It's called Smash the Witches.

I'm disappointed. I was so looking forward to the tag line: "Perry the Flying Squirrel: You'll Believe a Squirrel Can SING!"

They are very talented and very nice people. They deserve all of the recognition they are receiving.
