This seems like an interesting idea for a rock opera

David walked into the valley With a stone clutched in his hand He was only a boy But he knew someone must take a stand There will always be a valley Always mountains one must scale There will always be perilous waters Which someone must sail -Into the Fire Scarlet Pimpernel

OK call me a geek but I actually liked Beowulf. (I even have tried reading it in the original text) Could work (maybe) If so I am hoping for a MET version in the Anglo language and the use of sur-titles.
(But as I said I am a geek)

Well, then I must be a geek, too, because I enjoyed it immensely.

I'm not sure about the rock opera idea. I'd have to let the idea churn in my brain for awhile first. LOL

Well, it would mean an overdose of Beowulf...there's a film coming out in the next few months, plus another one (animated, I think) in the works...

I'm a geek who read the darned thing at slumber parties. It's not my favorite bit of literature, but I'd probably go to a musical of it.

A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

Not a fan of the rock opera idea, but as a regular opera it would be incredible. I love your idea Mom!

Mominator I want your cookies........(now that sounds odd)
On the one hand they make me want to bake.....on the other, they remind me that I am one of the baking impaired.

There was a bilingual edition that came out in 2000.It was a great read and really neat to see how the English language has changed over the millennia. Makes one wonders what it will look like in the year 3005.
If anyone is interested, here is some info..
