Frank Sinatra would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year, if he hadn't died 18 years ago, which is a pretty big "if". So there are a lot of Sinatra-themed events this year. It was recently announced that Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic would be having a one night gala fund-raiser on December 3rd at David Geffen Hall (formerly Avery Fisher Hall).
There's a lot of bad about this gala. There's a presale for subscribers and donors, so who knows what will be there when the general public can buy later this month. At least it's not an American Express card presale. And tickets are expensive. They are grouped in price points of $75, $95, $150 and $195. People here always seem to find a way to get decent seats at reasonable prices, but I don't know anything in that area.
Although Sinatra recorded every Broadway hit, and a lot of non-hits that he thought should be hits ("Not a Day Goes By", "Good Thing Going"
, a young audience may not know or like some of the song choices.
So why bring it up? The talent is very good. Some might say better than very good.

And if you have a spare $25,000 or more lying around, you can have a pre-concert champagne reception and a post-concert "glamorous dinner with the artists."
