Anyone else think that his Mass would make an amazing new Bway show...especially given the times we're in...maybe even at a larger off-Bway house?

I saw the Mass way back then. There are parts that are thrilling and parts that are pretentious pap. By the end however it is undeniably moving.

It would cost a fortune to run it at least as it was originally conceived. When it played NY the producer booked the Metropolitan Opera House because Mass needed such a large amount of money to break even. They lost their shirts.

There was a far smaller production done in Europe that was taped and shown on PBS in the mid 70s. With the cameras able to get in close the piece became far more intimate and the spectacle wasn't needed.

I wonder if this video is in the Museum of TV and Radio?

Mass would be worth mounting as a benefit somewhere. BC/EFA, are you reading this?
