Getting cheated by Telecharge has got me thinking: what's the best bargain you've ever gotten on tickets?
I would have to say getting $30 (US) tickets to see THE NORMAL HEART was pretty special, because it turned out to be one of the most heartwrenching experiences I've ever had in the theatre.

The best bargain in New York is the balcony at the New Victory theatre. 10 bucks, 7 if you're a member.
I've seen 15-20 productions and none has been less than good. Some have been extraordinary and they each cost 7 big ones.
I saw Shockheaded Peter five years before the rest of New York.

Hairspray, free. Modern Orthodox, free.
Man, I love college.
In terms of *actual* prices... probably The Normal Heart as well, BlueWizard. I think I paid like $32 or something, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. That, and the time I paid $23 for orchestra seats in Cabaret.

Bernadette Peters' Gypsy. $25 for the last row of Shubert. But the whole floor was empty thus I ended up at the first row of the third floor. The view is wonderful.
And no need to mention how lucky I felt after that show.

$15 for tickets to Michael John LaChiusa's "First Lady Suite" last year starring Julia Murney, Mary Testa, Mary Beth Peil, Donna Lynne Champlin and other Broadway caliber talent at The Connelly in the East Village.
$20 to see "Urinetown" when it was still at the American Theatre of Actors off-off-Broadway (as word spread, they kept extending until the Equity Showcase contract expired and the ticket price doubled -- still a bargain; of course it moved to Broadway not long afterwards ..... not so much of a bargain anymore).
$20 to see "Angels In America" from the last row of the balcony of the Walter Kerr -- not a bad seat and an extraordinary play.
$20 to see "Chicago" -- front row.
$20 seats to any one of DOZENS of terrific shows at The Fringe Festival and NY Music Theatre Festival. Actually, I could name several of my favorite shows ever that I saw for $15 or $20 off-off-Broadway.
