Best Broadway Chorus Numbers/Showstoppers

Posted: 6/20/06 at 7:10pmHey all! I'm putting together a musical revue/cabaret that goes chronologicall from the 30s onwards to the present, and am looking for people's opinions on greatest songs and shows from each decade. The group I'm working with are teens (I work at a summer theatre camp) and (as usual) are mostly female. The director is a dancer and wants to have big chorus numbers in addition to solos/duets/trios. Any suggestions or favorites? I'm excited about this project, and want all the Broadway fans to have their input!

Big chorus numbers that are also "show stoppers"...
One - A Chorus Line
On Your Toes - On Your Toes
Sing, Sing, Sing - Dancin'
Big Spender - Sweet Charity
Mame - Mame
Hello, Dolly! - Hello, Dolly!
There is Nothin' Like a Dame - South Pacific
Lullaby of Broadway - 42nd Street
Plenty more...

LULLABY OF BROADWAY/42nd STREET from 42nd STREET
DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING?/ONE DAY MORE from LES MISERABLES
ONE from A CHORUS LINE
FACADE from JEKYLL & HYDE
Some good ones to get started with, anyway

Not your typical "showstoppers" but the company plays a huge part:
A New Argentina-Evita
Tonight(Quintet)-West Side Story
(also America and Cool, which features some of the ensemble)
Wilkommen-Cabaret
