I also think Patti LuPone's "Live" 2-CD recording is fantastic. And there's plenty of Broadway in it. I was sitting in the audience at the Westwood Playhouse (now the Geffen) when they recorded it. She was actually sick (sucking on cough drops), and it was pouring down rain outside. She sounded incredible though, and was so completely engaged with the music. That gig at the Westwood Playhouse was the first time she had performed a solo concert live (so she says during the show). It was right after she finished doing TV's "Life Goes On" in L.A. and just before she was heading to London to do Sunset Blvd. (oy!)
