If you had to nail down one section of text from a musical theatre song that's the most clever, most insightful, most economic of words, what would it be?
I've always been awed by the first two lines of "Leave Luanne", from 35MM:
"Luanne's fat lip is drying
The Bastard's bacon frying"
In just 9 words, we know the set-up of the song, it's characters, the conflict, even where the sympathies of the narrator lie.
