Best Musical in NYC this weekend is A CHORUS LINE

A CHORUS LINE

is being performed in a full production by students of NYU's Department of Music & Performing Arts Professions Program in Vocal Performance

at the Frederick Loewe Theatre, 35 West 4th Street.

I hadn't seen a production since the original and this remains a brilliant piece of musical theatre. The cast is terrific, the acting, singing and dancing are fine.

Only two performances left, 11/6 at 8pm, and 11/7 at 3pm

If you're in NYC, try not to miss this.

Wish I could get there. You worship your Elphabbies and Gadingos or whomever? Check out Cassie and Sheila. THERE'S musical gold right there.

Oh man, I wish I could go. I have always wanted to see a production of A Chorus Line, but I'm sick. Damn it!

Yo, it's an okay production of an amazing show, but let's not get carried away. The acting is not up to Broadway standard. Nor is the singing. There are a few standouts, but it's not better than any show that is currently on Broadway!!! I mean, if that A CHORUS LINE was on Broadway and the Richie couldn't sing the top notes like he couldn't and the Morales and Val were just "okay" like they were, it would be considered a DISASTER. Nontheless, I did enjoy the show and I cried. A CHORUS LINE is a fantastic work, no question. But let's give Broadway its due. AVENUE Q, WICKED, etc have not fallen below amateur college production standard, have they?

"The acting is not up to Broadway standard."

BROADWAY is not up to Broadway standard, so we should hardly expect a college production to be.
