my mom and I are planning to purchase tickets for the light in the piazza at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, and i was just wondering where the best seats are (because the theater is so interestingly organized, and unlike i've ever seen before!) What row should i stop looking for tickets at? should i only look for center tickets to get a very nice view? are lodge tickets all right? you know, that kinda stuff.
Does anybody also know if any of the original cast leads are gonna be out at any time? (cuz i really wanna see them all when i attend!) thanks you all!
There really is no bad seat in the theatre. It's very short and wide and the stage sort of...juts out, so it's very close to the audience. You should try to get within the first three rows center and left orchestra. Right orchestra is good, as well, but the performers tend to play towards the left/center. I sat center loge front row and it was great. I felt like I wanted to lean forward and go hug Victoria Clark, but you know...I might fall and stuff..
Just get your tickets and go. It's an incredible show. I've heard Matt Morrison is leaving early August? I could be wrong though.

Someone asked Matt last night if he was leaving the show and he said yes. He wouldn't say exactly for what, but said that it was just a "boring old play".

I agree with Aigoo. I sat second row in section 2 (just left of house center, which is section 3) and thought the show was staged just about perfectly for that portion of the theatre.
Best of luck!
We just had this discussion in another thread. Here's the link...

Blue J I was at the stage door last night as well! *random* I was the one with the mini-Sharpie I kept letting everyone use. But anyways.
I think you should look for seats from center to left. I felt that people in the center probably had a better view, and I was sitting far left and couldn't see much in Octet. I would say to go towards the center.

anywhere in sections 2, 3 and 4 are fine. 1 and 5 are a little extreme... same goes for the loges... i was in row L in section 2 and it was a splendid seat. great time, great show.

There are always rumors about whether or not Matt is going to stay for the end of the show or leaving because he has other obligations of another show, but only time will tell...

I sat in section one and it was perfectly fine. I love that they bow to each side of the theatre. Only problem is that the seats are SO SMALL!!! I, personally, would want to be all the way up in the Loge. Although.....are they bigger seats? lol
i sat last row center loge and thought the seats were awesome! i could see fine... i was worried in the beginning before the show started that there was a giant pillar center stage but it thankfully was moved lol... any seat is great.. but i would say go for the first couple rows of orchestra... the music is not very loud so your ears wont get blown out or anything! good luck and any seat is great!
I usually sit house right, and I actually like seeing the show from over there. House left gets the reactions though.
