Hello everyone! I am planning my July trip to NYC around Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner's show at 54 Below. I wanted to ask what the best seats for the price were. I was looking at side view ($65), bar railing ($75), and main dining room ($75). For this particular concert (since it's not the first time they have done it) do you miss anything with a side view? Or would it be better to get a full view seat? Any help would be great!

The side view seats are pretty inconvinient, so say the least. They are literally at the side of the stage, and if you're on the right, you'll most likely have the musicians and/or the drum set block your view of singers pretty much entirely. I haven't sat on the left, but there you'll probably have the piano in the way. I can't recommend them. If you're gonna spend that much money, go for the full view. Perhaps see if any of the usual discount codes works (Theatermania or Broadwaybox), they do for most shows for 15% off.
Main dining room and bar rail seating are pretty much equally good. Bar rail seating is better for people who would rather keep to themselves if you're going by yourself. In the main dining room you'll likely get to chat with the people at your table, which I think is really nice. You never know who you might sit next to!

I would avoid the side view at all costs. Bar rail is my preference, but if it's the same price as main dining, you might as well go for the main dining room.

I prefer bar railing, but pay attention to the seating chart, since it has changed in recent months. Some shows now have VIP filling up the center and main dining room is off to the sides, whereas others use the old method where "main" was centered, just further away from the stage. That said, if VIP doesn't sell out, I imagine "main" can drift to fill those in...

The side view seating is horrible. Aside from it, all the other price levels offer pretty much the same view and the seating is really up to the maitred and when you arrive at the venue. I usually buy the cheapest ticket that is not side view.

Thanks to everyone for the advice! I'll probably go for Main Dining Room or Bar Rail. In terms of chatting with people, I love it! However the last two times I have gone, I sat with great people to talk to (Alice Ripley 2013) and people who didn't really seem to be the chatty type and wouldn't carry a converstion (54 Sings Elaine Stritch 2014). I'll probably leave it up to my father to pick, since I'd be happy with either. I can't even to begin to convey my excitement to see Alice and Emily on stage together. Side Show means so much to me and is my #1 favorite musical, so it should be a great experience.
