What a creative idea for a thread!
Anyway, my favorites are "Opportunity" from the most recent Annie (I just love that song) and that song that Robert Preston sang in the Mame film (because it gives his character more to do). I happen to like "Suddenly" and the axed Into the Woods movie song "She'll Be Back," as well.
What they did to the score of Forum in the film is unforgivable, which is why I think that one actually does need a remake. "Learn to Be Lonely" is a decent song, but it has no place in Phantom. I really missed the choral singing in Sweeney Todd. And I too miss "Be On Your Own," "Simple," and particularly the title song from Nine.

Not an addition or a replacement but I was so upset they cut I Can Hear the Bells from Hairspray movie. One of my favorites from the stage show.

They didn't cut it. It appears just as it does in the stage show (well the setting and context is different but the song is unaltered).
Maybe you're thinking of Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now. That was cut from the narrative but they recorded a version that plays over the end credits.
Stop! Don't! No! PleEeEeAse!
The reason for cutting Mama was allegedly that the director didn't want to film a song in a three-way split. I think it could have been a great number (it's one of my favorites from the show).
I would have thought that the Bye Bye Birdie title song was welcomed by every male over 12 years old. Hot stuff for the early sixties. It was added long after the film had wrapped to take advantage of the popularity of Ann-Margaret, with the objection of just about everyone else in the film from whom it stole attention.
A still of Ann-Margaret in that scoop dress made the cover of LIFE magazine.
I received my introduction to Sound of Music through the OBC, before there was a film. Watching the live TV presentation and hearing again the two "adult" songs that had been cut from the film: "How Can Love Survive?" and "There's No Way to Stop It" brought them back to mind." Tuneful with very clever lyrics, they helped to balance out all of the children's songs.
The second song, in particular, developed out of a discussion of the extent to which the Captain should cooperate with the Nazis. It was very well delivered by Laura Benanti and the others. Wish I could develop this philosophy.
A crazy planet full of crazy people,
Is somersaulting all around the sky.
And everytime it turns another somersault,
Another day goes by.
And there's no way to stop it,
No, there's no way to stop it.
No, you can't stop it even if you tried.
So, I'm not going to worry,
No, I'm not going to worry,
Every time I see another day go by.
