Love! Valor! Compassion! off-Broadway: flew to NYC to see the show even though it was sold out. Met Randy Becker after a performance and asked him for a ticket. He got me one for $20 and the play was great. Nudity, comedy, great acting, great writing, spoke to me.
Billy Porter in Grease. If you missed it, listen to the recording. Unbelievable. 1994 revival.
Nathan Lane in Laughter on the 23rd Floor- unbelievable comic performance. Him at his best,
And Heather Headley in The Bodyguard. Never seen anything like before or since.

Most recently, HELLO DOLLY with Donna Murphy. Have not smiled that much at the theater in a long time.
I totally agree on this one. Donna Murphy was fantastic and I'm glad I saw her in this show.
Probably the best show was Driving Miss Daisy with James Earle Jones and Vanessa Redgrave. James Earl and Vanessa worked together so well. I had a seat two or three rows from the top of the balcony well off to the side and they still had my rapt attention for the whole show.
May, 1991 - Tyne Daly in GYPSY. Saw it by 'default', didn't want to see it at all, and turned out to be one of the best and most memorable theater nights in my life.
1994-1995? - The tours of both 'Tommy' and 'JSC'. Both were in the mid 90s, both were part of the subscription series (could have been in the same season!) and both blew me away.
1996 - Betty Buckley in 'Sunset Boulevard'.
2017 - Donna Murphy' in 'Hello, Dolly!'

I've been going to shows for 40+ years so I've had a lot of great experiences. This year I had three of particular note:
-- ENCORES presentation of GRAND HOTEL, which was transporting
-- Serenbe Playhouse (outside of Atlanta) production this summer of TITANIC (when the enormous cast assembled at the end of the show to deliver that final number-- as the ghosts of the passengers who lived and died-- I thought it might be favorite moment during a performance, ever)
-- The shattering production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, in Yiddish, is brilliant and gave me my favorite (and most moving) moments in the theatre this holiday season. I cannot stop thinking about this.
1) Seeing J&H in 1997 and getting to meet the cast backstage after the show.
2) Seeing "Next To Normal" in the first week of its run.
3) Being in the front row of "Annie Get Your Gun" with Bernadette Peters and she winked at me at one time in the show - lol.
