Best time and day to see a show?

In people's general experience, what is the best day of the week to see a show? And are matinee's better than night shows? Or does it really matter? (And I'm thinking NY broadway shows...)

Thanks!

I don't like going on days when there are 2 shows because then the stars may be out of energy. They are also more likely to miss performances on those days (like Wednesday matinees). I like going on Thursday and Friday evenings. But that's just a personal preference. Weekdays are easier to get tickets to.

Stars are more likely to be out on weekdays than weekends, but I usually go on weekdays anyway because you can get the best student rush tickets then. I agree about the energy level worries on matinee days, but these people are professionals- they don't exactly slack off even if they're tired. And Wednesday matinees are usually full of senior citizens. Whether that's good or bad varies.
