Last month, I just went up to the box office ~2 hours before the show and had no problem buying tickets. They were in the 7th row (or so) and to the right, so they were considered "limited viewing" although they were totally fine (especially for being last minute). I would try the lottery if I were you, and then if that doesn't work, just go over the box office and try your luck. (This is probably easier to do during a weekday performance - Tues through Thurs - vs. a Fri/Sat show).
