Bette Midler cancels concert.

I was just reading in one of the yahoo chat rooms that the divine one has sprained her ankle and forced to cancel her next to closing show. I am trying to find a legitimate news link on this. I know how resourseful all you theater fans are so I thought I would ask for help here.??

I actually heard that she had sprained her ankle a week or 2 ago and has been performing on it, which has caused it to become worse. She was holding back a little (as far as her dancing and running about) when I attended her concert in NJ this past Saturday...at least compared to what I saw her do at Madison Square Garden in January.

Damn hope she feels better soon.
I love her. The woman has a belt to die for.
I am sorry i missed her concert. I could not get a ticket.
The woman is talented.

Long time lurker, first time poster because I live in Albany.

They are telling us here that the concert was cancelled due to weight of snow on the arena roof after our snow storm this week. They were afraid the weight of the snow combined with the weight of Midler's staging (113,000 pounds) was too risky. The show was cancelled, not postponed. Ticket holders are being given a refund. There were many disappointed people in Albany on Wednesday.

I read in one of the local papers what you just mentioned. They also said she is likely to resume the tour in the fall and will add a extra stop over there. It is a great show. I do hope to see it again.
