Betty Buckley says of Patti LuPone in SWEENEY...

Betty Buckley's website has undergone a slight renovation, and under her "Favorites" section, she lists Sweeney Todd as her current Broadway pick.
She says of the show:
"Magnificent musical written by Stephen Sondheim. Patti LuPone is AWESOME as is the entire cast and of course Sondheim is devine. The directorial concept is terrific. I loved it!"
So despite Betty's detractors here, I think it's hip that she went so far as to say such great things on her site.

Mrs. Lovett plays the tuba in the current revival of Sweeney Todd and there thinking maybe Betty Buckley could take over.

ha, my sis would love if Betty replaced Patti (she just got a signed headshot from Betty about 2 months ago, and now shes writing Patti)

Let's not forget, of course, that Betty knows the role because she rehearsed for a production that never happened. Producers would be wise to pick her for a replacement.
