THE biggest surprise was that Kinky Boots (13) got the most nominations, albeit the same number of categories (12), as Matilda, and Pippin got 10.
Pleasantly surprised by Billy Magnussen's nomination in the Featured Actor category.
Hugely pleasantly surprised that 5 of my 6 Lead Actress in a Play nominations came true (Jessica Hecht was the exception; but what an awesome group of nominees. All of them deserve to win the award).
Stark Sands' nomination, over Jim Norton or Anthony Warlow.
The Testament Of Mary getting a Best Play nomination instead of The Nance (wrong wrong wrong)
Tom Sturridge's Lead Actor in a Play nomination (Seth Numrich richly deserved to win imo)
Orphans Best Revival nomination
Vasilia LeKae's wooden Diana Ross instead of Lilla Crawford's spirited Annie.
Only 5 nominations for The Mystery Of Edwin Drood.
Keith Carradine's nomination for Hands On A Hardbody.
The love for Lucky Guy.
