Bill Nabel

I just wanted to say how awesome I think this guy is, having been in Beauty and the Beast for around 12 years on Broadway. That takes some serious discipline and dedication. And to think he was also an original cast member of 42nd St. Anyone else like this guy? I wonder how many times he has gone on for Maurice, Lumiere, or Cogsworth. I think he is the first cover for Maurice.

re: Bill Nabel

No my picture is Jeffry Denman and Meredith Patterson. Bill Nabel is much older. He's been on Broadway for 20 years.

But Bill was in Chorus Line, right?
So maybe he can still Kick like that?

re: Bill Nabel

I asked around and I heard Bill was hit by a Bus on Colombus Circle.
So Sad.

re: Bill Nabel

The picture is from White Christmas. Fun holiday show.

CurtainPullDowner- Is that true? He got hit by a bus? Where did you hear this? That is so sad and I am sorry to hear that. You are correct in that Bill played Al in A Chorus Line. I cannot pass judgement on his dancing abilities, but I am pretty sure they are still intact from 12 years with Beauty.

re: Bill Nabel

He didn't get hit by a bus, but he did get hit by a car. It was driven by a teenager going the wrong way around Columbus Circle, so Bill didn't see him coming. Bill was thrown something like 20 feet and although he didn't break anything, he was pretty beaten up. It was a long recovery.

He has been with Beauty and the Beast since its out-of-town tryout in Houston in fall/winter of 1993, and he is the only remaining original cast member in the show. He has two teenage daughters, is a huge baseball fan, a writer, and a good guy.

Wow I am so sorry to hear that. When did this happen? I never saw his name disappear from Beauty and the Beast cast lists, so I had no idea. I hope he does recover smoothly. I guess it was odd timing that I started this thread to salute his 12 1/2 years with the show and found out that he really seems to need it.
