Well this person has inherited money that could be put to use somewhere else. It seems a little indulgent to record an unnecessary new york cast however wonderful they are.

All money could be put to use somewhere else and who are we to tell anyone how to spend their money? I'm just wondering what makes it so indulgent now when it wasn't considered indulgent for there to be London and Broadway cast recordings of the same shows since cast recordings have existed. If we're going to guilt someone out of producing a Broadway cast Billy Elliot recording, then we better trot our high horses out to every producer of more than one English language cast recording of every show ever recorded. Meanwhile, should I start calling everyone out around here for how they wish to spend their money? If we add up the amount spent on musical theatre CDs and memorabilia purchased by any given board member, rather than being donated to charity, I'm thinking we'll see a LOT of red faces.
