I remember several years ago watching a backstage vlog from one of the actors in Billy Elliot, and as part of it they showed three women who sang the backup parts to "Shine" offstage in a vocal booth. They did some bit where the women were chatting and on their phones as they entered the booth up until the last minute where they had to start to sing their parts. Does anyone else remember this, and does anyone have a link? I've searched YouTube and a few different news sites and haven't found it. Thanks!

I don’t remember the video, but that sounds about par for the course for offstage singing.

If I am remembering correctly, Greg Jbara did a video blog for broadway.com and I believe that was in one of the episodes.

I'm sure you're right and, if I am remembering correctly, it was set up to be a funny moment. Off-stage singing is never the most focused part of a show but the moment described by the OP was a real "snap" from unfocused to singing. Most off-stage singing is never that sharp a switch!

Yes, you're correct! Thanks so much. Here's the video in case anyone else is interested. The phones are definitely supposed to be a bit. Thank you again, emmalatifah!!!
