Has anyone seen this show before? I listned to the 1995 Studio Cast and I sorta liked it. Was the show ever on Broadway.
Not sure about Broadway, but I saw it four times in Toronto with Amy Sky and David Cassidy. I loved it. One of the most powerful finales of any show I've seen.

It ran on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre from '93-'95. Stephanie Lawrence played Mrs. Johnstone, later replaced by Petula Clark, Carole King and Helen Reddy.
It's still running in the West End, in London, at the Phoenix Theater.

i saw it in the west end and it was so boring because the cast was so bored... i guess it doesn't have high running costs and that's why it's been running for so long, because they were all just so bored.
HAHA, my high school actually did this show. British accents and all :0)
nice! British accents are the best. I should know. I'm british (but has lost the accent)
Awwwwwwwwwww...that's so sad! I love me a good brit!
me too. I want to marry a brit mainly cause the accent.
I saw Blood Brothers on west end last year, it's been running for 16 years or something, and is still running. The music is not good...very unoriginal score. But the plot is really good, it takes excellent actors to do this play well...I was very luckt when I saw it. I cried my eyes out, very intens story and destiny of to brothers, twins seperated at birth, but growing up as best friends and falling in love with the same girl...
I'm planning a trip to London next month and I was wondering if I should see this. How is the current cast?
Saw it on Broadway and laughed so hard I nearly got kicked out of the theatre. It didn't do it for me. Also saw a regional production a few years later, to give it another try, and still found it completely laughable. But I know it has it's supporters. I wish I could understand what people see in it.
I saw it in London in 1990. I was so bored I could not wait for that show to end. It had been really hyped up so I went in expecting something really great. Needless to say I was totally disappointed.

I saw it in 1989 and really enjoyed it. The music certainly isn't great , but there are some good songs in the mix. It's also a dated story and much of it certers around the English class system, particularly in Thatcher's England. I don't think that really translated for most American audiences.
It failed in its first run, but was revived in the late 80s. At that time, it was a very unusual and refreshing show, since it was a dramatic contrast to Cats, Phantom, Les Miz, Miss Saigon, etc.
I used to listen to the cast album all the time but almost can't bear it now. The lyrics are repetitive, annoying, and the Marilyn Monroe references aren't very clever. That having been said, there are a few songs I still enjoy. If you consider buying it, I recommend almost any version over the studio cast. The author isn't a terribly gifted writer, but he's a thousand times worse as a performer.

The author isn't a gifted writer???? This show may not deliver the goods, but the man has written some of the best plays in the last 3 decades! Educating Rita ring a bell?
