I was wondering if this would be a good musical to purchase? I have noticed that there is two different recordings, which one is better?

I like this musical. Actually there are several recordings of it. Better known as the Barbara Dickson version, the Kiki Dee version, the Stephanie Lawrence version and the Petula Clark version. I like the first three listed.

Here is a thread where some opinions are given.

Love Blood Brothers, one of my favorite musicals. Have the newer cast recording (the one with David Cassidy and Petula Clark). Not my favorite and not highly recommended in my opinion. Haven't heard the older one (I assume you mean the 1988 recording), but I have read reviews and people seem to prefer that one.

Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are." <<

The Barbara Dixon - she created the part and it's from when the show still maintained its rough edges.

John Gielgud remarked to Coral Browne, "you know, Coral, Judi Dench is going to play Lady Macbeth." "Oh, then I suppose we shall have the postcard scene!"

I loved this show- The score wasn't astounding, but the plotline and acting were amazing.

I have three of the versions and my personal favorite is the London 1995 cast, known as the Stephanie Lawrence version. The one I don't have is the one with Barbara Dickson. Really, I think that any version of it is fantastic, but I love the show with all my heart. My favorite one is my favorite because I saw Mark Hutchinson as Eddie and thought he was fantastic so I bought the recording because he was on it. I honestly can say Blood Brothers is one of my all time favorite musicals.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?
