Hey guys,

Coming back into the city for a long weekend. Last trip I saw a bunch, (Next to Normal, with Marin and Jason, A Little Night Music (twice), La Cage (twice), Billy Elliot, Promises, Promises, amongst others.

Already bought tickets to Women on the Verge and planning on getting tickets to Time Stands Still. Have time to see a Saturday matinee. Deciding between Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Merchant of Venice, Spiderman, or Scottsboro Boys.

I've listened to the music to Jackson, and I enjoyed it, but the preview just posted today didn't thrill me. Can't decide between the three!!!

Thanks for your help!

I loved Scottsboro Boys and would say it's a better show than Bloody Bloody (which I enjoyed too), but I obviously haven't seen either of the others. Scottsboro is really wonderful. Merchant is a very limited engagement, so if you have the money and the burning desire to see Pacino on stage, go for it. I would think Spiderman will be around for at least a few months, so I would wait on that one.

I can't speak for Spiderman (obviously) or Merchant of Venice, but I've seen Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and The Scottsboro boys, and Scottsboro boys is a stronger show all the way around.

I've only seen Scottsboro Boys out of those you've listed, so I'm obviously going to suggest that. I went with my boyfriend who has seen Bloody Bloody, and he loved every second of it, so I'm guessing you'll like either of them.

Without a doubt SCOTTSBORO BOYS. One of the best Kander and Ebb scores in a long while and Stroman at the top of her game. Go on itunes and buy "Go Back Home" from SCOTTSBORO. It's lovely. The electric chair tap is sensational.
