I'll say Broadway in Chicago at least has professional ushers who can answer questions like "where is the exit?" I've gotten tired of non-profit theaters and volunteer ushers who know less about the place than I do.
I do like the comment that said something about "sorry we couldn't give you all the details-- we STILL don't know all the details." Call me old fashioned, but when the message is "Evacuate the theater" I don't need more details.

Chicago has had its share of theatrical tragedies, not the least of which was the horrific Iroquois Theater fire;

In my several times bringing shows into Chicago, I have always been impressed with their attention to safety and the usher's training, much more inclusive than most other cities.

""this is not a bomb," and the other note said "this is not going to end good."
Chris, clearly they found your notes from when you reviewed the show."
^I found this amusing.
So I take it no one got their money back for the show?
