Posted: 6/23/04 at 12:02amJust got back. We really enjoyed it !! If you can get past the fact that the dialogue is kind of embarrassing, its not bad. The costumes and the dance sequences were excellent. I liked the score, but found myself liking the music more when no one was singing. The biggest surprise I found was the fact that the theater was packed !!! I thought it would be around 60-70% full for a Tues nite, but it was packed, and the audience seemed really into the show. I call it brain-dead good fun !!!

Posted: 6/23/04 at 12:48amI must say that I thought the book of the show was absolutely awful but I found the large group numbers to be entertaining, like Salaam Bombay. I think that one of the best parts was watching the two guys doing the procussion. And Akaash's solo at the end is good but over all the show was rather...eh.

Posted: 6/23/04 at 6:26pmTrue, and they should really tell people that are buying the CD that it is not the OBCR ! Not one person was told last night, and there nothing posted that says that it is different.

Posted: 6/24/04 at 1:31amI have not seen the broadway version, but saw the London version it's last week. I thought it was AMAZING. Yes, the dialogue was ho hum, but that is the point. It mirrors a bollywood movie, which is corny. The music is spectacular and the dancing...WOW. My favorite part was the "Shakalaka Baby" sequence. BRILLIANT!!!!
