Book of Mormon SRO for Sunday Matinee?

Hey guys,

I am relatively new to New York, but have my sister coming in town this weekend and we were thinking of possibly trying our luck at the lottery for Book of Mormon on Friday and Saturday night. 

Assuming we don't win, we are also thinking of standing in line for Standing Room Only tickets for the Sunday matinee show. I know the show starts at 2pm... but what time would guys recommend we head into Manhattan to go stand in line?

9:30 or 10 a.m. is probably safe.

That doesn't sound too bad at all. If anyone else has any experience with this, please let me know. Also, does anyone know how many SRO tickets they usually have (so we can count the number of people in line to see if it's worth waiting)?

They'll tell you it's around 25, but I think the actual number is 28. And remember that every person can buy two tickets. You can assume at least one person who says they're buying one is actually going to buy two (either through lying or a last-minute +1).

Does anyone else have any experience or knowledge about this? Just trying to gather as much info as possible before we try this Sunday.

You have pretty much everything you need to know. The other obvious ones are not to leave the line for obnoxious amounts of time, bring something to sit on (a phone book if you don't have a stool), and the best bathrooms are at the Time Hotel and the Crowne Plaza.
