I'm planning a trip to Boston this summer and was looking at options for shows to see while there. I found this show listed on Goldstar at the Cutler Majestic theatre and went to look up more information about it to see what it was about. I see that it has played in DC and other places. Is it worth seeing? Or is it not worth it? Or is it so bad it might be funny to see? Cheapest tickets for my dates are $20.
And yes, I already have tickets to Jagged Little Pill and Moulin Rouge for potentially better shows.

I saw it in DC. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. And it was clear that BeBe wrote it himself to glorify his own life, because it ends abruptly, on a positive note, right before the period where he got divorced, got mired in a long legal battle with his former manager, and got accused of domestic assault.
The highlight is Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker (only portrayed before they got divorced, Jim got accused of raping Jessica Hahn and went to prison for fraud, and Tammy Faye went on The Surreal Life), as comic relief.
I wouldn't see it a second time unless I really, really liked gospel music. But the vocals were pretty great.
