Unfortunately I cannot locate a phone number to speak to a live person at the Colonial box office so I figured that I might as well ask all of you. Does anyone know if Avenue Q will have a rush outside of the normal Colonial rush policy? If so do you know:
If it's a student or general rush?
Where the seats are located?
When the tickets are released (BO opening or a couple hours before curtain)?
How many are available?
How much?
Thanks all. See you in Boston.
- It is student rush.
- The seats are located whatever they have left. The last couple of times I rushed at the Colonial, I got mezz row H (and I was first in line), and people behind me got side orchestra seats.
- The tickets are sold an hour before curtain.
- Tickets are available as long as the show isn't sold out. Usually they aren't available Saturday evenings.
- $25 each, 1 ticket per student ID
The website indicates that you can advance rush for a matinee show in a week and a half, but the deadline to purchase that was February 29th. The link isn't providing availability for shows, so I am not sure what days exactly this show will offer rush. Usually it is every day except Saturday nights. I would go down to the box office or contact someone at Broadway Across America - Boston if you have additional questions.

Hi!
I got a rush flyer at the theater. It's general rush. They'll take names 2 hours before, draw winners 1/2 hour later- 1 1/2 hours before curtain. There are 20 orchestra seats at $25.

Really? That's a lotto then, not rush. According to the link it sounds like they'd be offering rush.
I got rush tickets a few weeks ago as the tour came through my city. I was able to get them 2 hours ahead of time in only one specific section. (It was Orchestra Section 5). $25. It's a great deal! Have fun! The cast is super sweet if you want to talk to them at the stage door.
