i didn't like the show, probably never will. i thought it was a very quick copy of "how to solve a problem like maria". it dragged, was boring, and no one entirely impressed me.
but i will, however, god help me, give credit to ytotiw and htsaplm because it's a big change. I'm training as a classical and show tune singer/actress myself and I get so upset when I see so many large competitions on television and elsewhere for pop singers (i.e. american idol) or for the pop genre. it leaves the entire category of young hopefulls that I belong to out of the spotlight. I'm glad atleast two television networks have given a shot to a competition for this particular genre of singers. granted, grease is more pop than, let's say, les mis or something, but it's a chance. and I'm glad to see some networks give their time and money to this genre. is ytotiw the best show I've ever seen? no. but i think it's a stepping stone towards bigger and better competitions for the broadway and show tune audience.
This show is so boring. No one else in America will be watching soon either. If I see another clip from the movie and the same "dance round" clip, I will scream.

After last night I'm certainly done !
I"m wondering if the revival is still on after the crappy ratings last night...If this continues, I doubt they'll go ahead with it.

i saw drowsy chaperone last night and kecia lewis-evans (trix) was telling us at the stage door that she was lounging around backstage the whole show and was watching this show which made me laugh because i thought about the numerous negative posts on the board about this show..i don't know.. just let it be what it is..the show isn't the best.. but maybe the broadway community will benefit from it with talent for other shows..
