I remember reading earlier this year that Maggie Smith would be returning to Broadway this fall in "Breath of Life" after its success in London. Has anyone heard anything about it lately?
In my opinion, Maggie Smith is one of the greatest theater talents and I would love the chance to see her perform on the stage.

One of the most memorable experiences in my life was being able to see her in "Lettice and Lovage." She is impeccable and brilliant. I am greatly anticipating the arrival of this show and encourage anyone who has not had the opportunity to see her perform live make the effort to do so.

How I wish that I could've seen her in Private Lives!

It is heading to Broadway at some point in the fall with Diane Wiest now confirmed to recreate the role originally played by Judi Dench. When you see the play, it's very easy to see why Dame Judi declined the chance to repeat.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

The play IS great and it extended a bunch of times. But Maggie Smith's role is a breeze, with all the funny, memorable dialogue. Judi Dench was bitter and angry and crying for two hours and the lopsided writing meant she ended up being overshadowed in what seemed a thankless role.

Don't go expecting anything. David Hare's stuff is very situational as opposed to things actually happening. If you like watching other people's lives, go see, if you like stories, miss it.
