re: Brent Barrett

Brent Barrett is an outstanding performer with a golden voice that sends shivers down the spine.

I first saw him in London in GRAND HOTEL in 1991 and his rendition of "Love Can't Happen" was a thrilling highlight in a thrilling show. I then saw him in a concert version of ON THE TOWN at the Royal Festival Hall in 2000 - when he performed, hobbling around with a walking stick as he had injured himself during rehearsals! - and hearing him sing LONELY TOWN and LUCKY TO BE ME was worth the price of the ticket alone. And, of course, I saw his wonderful performance in KISS, ME KATE at the Victoria Palace in 2001.

I would love to get to see him in something on Broadway during one of my visits there. His two fantastic solo CDs of Kander & Ebb and Alan Jay Lerner songs are very frequent vistiors to my hi-fi system!

try his BRIGADOON studio-cast recording. Great music on the whole thing (including uncut dance music restored and beautifully orchestrated), and his singing is superb. Wish i could have caught him in the NYCO revival, which i think was 1996.

Yeah, he's really great. My name also happens to be Brent, so we chatted a little about the rarity of the name. He's was really cool.

always liked the name Brent. One of the hottest guys i ever knew was named Trent, and his last name started with "Br" so in my weird mind it makes me think of "Brent". Trent's younger brother was 3-alarm hottie as well. Named Trey. Sigh....

Hey, CJR, welcome back. Where have you been? Yes, I saw Brent in Chicago in August with Deidre Goodwin and "you know who". He was great.

Amen, bob8rich. His voice is pure gold. I love seeing him perform in anything. I wish I could have caught him live in Kiss Me Kate. I loved the PBS performance- phenomenal.
I got to see him perform "All I Care About is Love" live at Broadway in Bryant Park. I am not a big fan of the song, but I am when he's singing. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Brent Barrett

Long Live Brent Barrett!

No one mentioned the "On A Clear Day" Encores where he came on, tore into "It Wasn't You" and walked away with the show.

His "Kander & Ebb Album" is a must have, the "Alan Jay Lerner" album less so, not because of the performances, the songs are just a little . . . well, they don't exactly blow your skirts up, ya know?

And "Chicago:" him working overtime, taking up the slack for talent challanged Melanie in the "We Both Reached For The Gun" number, actually projecting pleasure, while that sow, unable even to pull off the lipsinc, just bat her "deer in the headlights" eyes and changed positions on the chair!
"I Can't Do It Alone" most certainly does not apply in Brent's case. What a trouper!

I know what you mean, about Melanie...I bet he was tired after this summer. I agree about "I can't do it alone'.

re: Brent Barrett

Brent Barrett is one of the most talented male leads on Broadway.
He was incredible in The Broadway series at Town Hall, Chicago,
Encore's, Bash, Pajama Game.
The man can sing.
Check out his website.

Ooooohhhh, Brent is just the creamiest and the dreamiest! I was lucky enough to see him as both Billy Flynn in Chicago and as Frank Butler with Reba in Annie Get Your Gun. He is featured on MANY studio and compilation CD's. Check out his Who's Who listing here on Broadwayworld.com (entered by yours truly!) for a list of his recordings.

BTW, did anyone see the Great Performances concert of Wonderful Town on PBS? Or tape it? I would LOVE to have a copy of the tape. Please let me know if you have a copy to sell or trade. Thanks!

Also, do go visit his web site as Corine suggested. It is very well done and, unlike many Broadway performers' web sites, it is kept up-to-date.

When I was working on his Who's Who entry, I emailed him some questions on two occasions and he wrote back promptly and graciously. We love Brent!

I'm definitely a big Brent Barrett fan. I saw him in Chicago and Annie Get Your Gun.

Anyone remember him from All My Children?
