I just heard one little excerp of his from Man of La Mancha and his voice is insane! I was just blown away. I've heard of the man just never really have "heard" him. I have a new found love. Lets express our love for him, now!

He was on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air this morning! It was an episode where Hillary became a weather girl. I wonder if this means they are going to show a few of the Brian Stokes Mitchell episodes throughout the week.

I adore his singing but I'm not overly impressed with the acting. At least not the little I've seen. In "Kiss Me Kate", "Sweeney Todd", and "Man of La Mancha" he always seemed to be playing the same character. Just kind of 'lightweight' - you know? I'd like to think that my opinion would have changed had I seen him in "King Hedley".

The bit I remember from his "Frasier" episodes is where they are at the tenants' meeting and Frasier is trying to convince the board to make BSM's character take down the giant American flag hanging from his balcony, and BSM just stands up at the meeting and starts to sing "America the Beautiful" (in that Voice) and instantly wins everyone to his side.

stokes is a god. that's all i have to say. it was a crime that he didn't win wor ragtime. an utter crime.
