Too bad Cristin Miliotti isn't available to play Bet.

Brian Stokes Mitchell as Henry Higgins? Now THAT i'd like to see.
Remember, he played Emile in the concert version of SOUTH PACIFIC a few years back, and was brilliant. (It actually took me a while to figure out why, as he said, he'd never be able to play that part in an actual production.)
I think he is a good actor on stage (WOMEN ON THE VERGE notwithstanding), though i would say some of his film performances have been dubious (see below)... possibly because he is more accustomed to playing to the balcony than the camera.
DOUBLE PLATINUM (Diana Ross, Brandy, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Roger Rees, Harvey Fierstein, and Christine Ebersole)
This isn't bad casting - he's a great actor. Just boring, uninspired casting. Why not get someone else who can carry a tune and has some better comedic chops? Missed opportunity.
After this I hear Barbour is being considered for another Lionel Bart musical: LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS.
