Wow...Only in my dreams, I'm sure, would it ever happen, but dang. That would be amazing.
He sure would be.
Here's to hoping for a Les mis Musical movie staring Stokes as Javert...
No, no movie Les Mis (Visions of pop star stunt casting and strange conceptual ideas from lame directors float in my head...) However, Stokes can step into that role any time he wants.:)
Well, naturaly I meant NO stunt casting and NO weird sh*T...it's all hypothetical, mind you
Oooooooh! I would love that.
I know Hugh Jackman was offered the role sevreal times (stage wise) but has turned it down. Wonder why. I would love to see Jackman in this role as well.

"Brian Stokes Mitchell as Javert...anyone else think he would be amazing"?
WHY NOT???? I would be interested in seeing him.
I saw "Les Mis" last week here in Chicago...the show was FANTASTIC! Loved all the cast, especially Tonya Dixon as Fantine.

*Gasp* That's inspired.
Meh... now I'll be disappointed if he never does take the role...
I miss Les Mis, hence all the threads and me listening to it all the time.
I can't wait until the Red Japanese CD arrives!
Hi Thenardier....I also LOVE 'Les Mis'....am thinking of getting the Red Japanese CD with Takeshi Kaga as Jean Valjean, also.
Did you know that Takeshi Kaga is also on the Iron Chef?!
Takeshi Kaga is a well known stage and movie actor in Japan, and is probably best known internationally for his portrayal of Chairman Kaga in the Japanese television show Iron Chef produced by Fuji TV.
Kaga was born on October 12, 1950 in the city of Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. His first experience on stage was at the age of seven when he joined the Kanazawa City Boys choral group.
In 1972, he joined the Japanese SHIKI musical company. While with the company, he played the role of Jesus Christ in the Japanese stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar (1976), and role of Tony in West Side Story (1977). In 1980 left SHIKI to play the role of Sanada in the movie Yajuu Shisubeshi. He starred in several movies throughout the 1980s, but his most famous role would be that of Chairman Kaga, the eccentric and flamboyant host of Ryoori no Testsujin, a cooking competition show first shown in 1993. It became very popular, not only in Japan, but around the world, and was broadcast in the United States and Canada under the name Iron Chef.
Despite his international fame with the show, he has not given up his love for musicals. In 1994 he starred in the popular Japanese production of Les Misérables as Jean Valjean. He also starred in "Macbeth" in 2000, and in Jekyll and Hyde as well as in The Threepenny Opera in 2001.
He currently appears on Time Shock 21 a quiz show on Asahi Television in Japan.
YEah, I got it from Amazon - but used...it was still sealed and I save 20 bux on it....

His Don Quioxte was plain Embarressing, Brent Barret was 10 times better as Pertruchio in the West End Kiss Me Kate. Poor dude fulfilled his destiny in Ragtime. Perhaps he should stick to cabaret shows or something.I know I am in the minority here but I am obviously not a fan of this man.

I would have to agree with one addition. Michael Ball as Valjean. That would have my two favorite male performers in one show. That would be fantastic
