Not sure if this should go on Off Topic or here, so sorry if I'm in the wrong place.
My high school is doing a production of Brighton Beach Memoirs, and I'm on the props crew...I didn't realize at first what a job it would be. Our stage crew is building a two-story house, essentially, and we have to furnish the whole thing in 1930s style (from beds, to paintings etc for the wall, to authentic-looking ketchup/mustard bottles). We don't have a huge budget, so we're begging and borrowing as much as possible, but some things we do need to buy. I have no idea where to find these things reasonably cheaply, so if anyone could give some suggestions, that would be great. I live just outside Boston, and we have access to a car too. (I'll be in NYC for a few days in a little while, so I suppose I could find a couple things there.) Thank you!!

because of your budget, antique shops would generally not be good because antiques from that era are relatively expensive. So what I would suggest is asking for some hand-me downs. Thatd be a good place to start. I'm not from New York or Boston, so I can't really suggest places, but good luck!

Nope, outside Boston, in a nice, quite Jewish suburb.
