Aww, JLY.
nomdeplume wants you to get better, you cutie.
Western medicine doesn't have all the answers.
I offer some folk remedies and Asian medicine tips that may assist in restoration of your full vocal strength.
The first:
Fresh ginger tea:
Take about a four inch "finger" of fresh ginger root. Peel and sliver, toss in a teapot. Fill with boiling water. Add fresh-squeezed lemon juice and/or honey if desired. It should be strong enough to give you a little "bite" in the back of your throat. Drink the whole pot. You can re-use the slivers once for another potful of tea.
Ginger tea will hydrate you and helps to clear sinuses and congestion. It is recommended by even Western doctors for this in Hawaii, and especially for sinus infections.
Ginger also helps boost your immune system.
More remedies to come.

When I consulted a Chinese herbalist about feeling fatigued, I was recommended to take an extract of the mushroom known to Chinese as ling zhi and to Japanese as reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum).
Ling Zhi is a rare "adaptagen," in other words, it has the ability to go to whatever ails you and help out. (Sorry, it's non-hallucinatory for you party types.) You can buy it in capsule form. The Chinese brands are often cheaper but the Japanese brands have better quality control and are more reliable. However, I have been able to find some that is American made that is inexpensive and fine at like $9 to $18 for a bottle of 100 capsules. You can get it in the shops in Chinatown, many health food stores, and over the internet.
Not only did my fatigue go away, but I experienced a sudden absense of a post nasal drip thing I was waking up with every morning. It's great for sinus issues.
My big health secret, just for you, JLY.
"Because of the presence of polysaccharides lingzhi is often promoted as anti-tumor, immunomodulating and immunotherapeutic. It is also put forth as adaptogenic, anti-allergenic and anti-hypertensive due to the presence of triterpenes. Apart from these properties, uncited sources have found lingzhi to be anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-parasitic, anti-fungal, antidiabetic, anti-hypotensive, and hepatoprotective. It has also been found to inhibit platelet aggregations, and to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.
Because of these properties, lingzhi has been promoted as an immune system booster, blood pressure stabilizer, antioxidant, analgesic, a kidney and nerve tonic, as well as a sexual potentiator. It has been used in bronchitis prevention and in cardiovascular treatment, and in the treatment of high triglycerides, high blood pressure, hepatitis, allergies, chemotherapy support, HIV support, and even for fatigue and altitude sickness."

Remedy #3
Acupuncture
This gives the body a deep relaxation which it desperately needs sometimes which helps your body heal itself.
It gives a natural pain-killing effect without drugs and reduces inflammation.
It is also believed to stimulate and increase your "chi," your life force or bodily energy, which again can help you heal.
Even the acupuncturists don't know exactly how it works, but it's been working for over 2000 years.
The spiritualists believe the contact points for the needles attach to points in the spiritual or etheric body and stimulate and increase the connection between them.
The stainless steel needles they use today are use once and throw away, and not much wider than the human hair. It hurts a little at first (if one hits a nerve it hurts a lot for a bit but that's rare) but the little stings go away quick and you can then, if you are sensitive as most artists are, feel surges of a tingling energy sensation coursing through your body. that is the "chi," your own chi.
I will even recommend someone who I think is good at it, but no one from here is to pester this nice man or mention anything about BWW or me if you choose to see him for a problem. He's from China and he won't know what that is all about. I think he knows his acupuncture, and he is also a licensed herbalist though his stock is limited and he doesn't handle Ling Zhi:

Remember "tonic?"
Well, the tonics in the days of old were actually intended to stimulate your health (when they weren't putting alcohol or cocaine in them).
Real ginger ale and real root beer are good for you. I try to avoid the sugar, though, which is not good for you, so I get the diet ones.
Sarsparilla root beer and ginger beer and white or red birch beer? All good for you if a natually flavored brew.
Other folks may feel welcome to add folk remedies that can help restore a singer to good voice, but no dipsh*t ones, please.

Odd, I just got an email from Amazon.com suggesting that I buy the Jersey Boys, Wedding Singer and Drowsy Chaperone CDs.
Have they been reading BWW?

Well, it looks like I have to do this all myself, JLY.
Though leeches have been allowed back into the medical and scientific door recently as they are actually helpful to some serious infection conditions which we won't get into because it's gross, and even grosser is the medical use of maggots which again can do without description, these are not things that can help JLY.
However, I have an additional suggestion which is all the health food rage and a component of Asian medicine, and that is
Goji berries!
They're from Tibet and Nepal and elsewhere, you can easily buy them dried in health food stores (I take a little handful every day, they're sweet) and they are noted to contain
"polysaccharides, which have been demonstrated to be a healing catalyst, strongly fortifying the immune system while stimulating the secretion of natural anti-aging HGH"
That's from the package.
You better get better or you're going to have to hear more of this, JLY.

Another botannical remedy, JLY, is Slippery Elm, which you can buy as tea or lozenges in about any health food store.
"Taken unsweetened...gives excellent results in gastritis, gastric catarrh, mucous colitis and enteritis, being tolerated by the stomach when all other foods fail, and is of great value in bronchitis, bleeding from the lungs and consumption (being most healing to the lungs), soothing a cough and building up and preventing wasting."

I love ginger beer (it is not real beer).
[To answer the "threadjack"... There is one called just that, Ballerina Tea, same stuff is called "Dieter's Tea" and it clears you right out but it's quite strong. And it's not appropriate to help JLY. No remedy for sinus, throat, lungs. It would dehydrate him.]
