I don't get the correlation between the title and the sentences that follow. Who is scared of the New York Times? And how does the perceived snarkiness mitigate that fear?
Does anyone besides hardcore theatre nerds really give a crap when the nominations are announced?
As I said above (and in the post of mine that got deleted), I don't get what the big deal is.

They changed the blog around too and deleted the comment on there (which was agreeing with the blog).
I guess they really DON'T want to know what YOU think.

Not scared, just disgusted at some of the stuff they try to "sensationalize", just for ratings.
And why would the NYT have to patronize their readers with "labeling" who would be reading (or interested) in certain articles...?! I think they tried to be funny or something, who knows! You know, if they want to keep the segment of their readers who patron the arts, they better try to show that they value them in a better manner...

Posted: 1/16/09 at 8:54amI'm personally more scare of Michael Riedel's articles (from a show's perspective) even though I love reading them. This, I don't get at all and I could care less for the Tonys. What will we have? 2 new shows and 20 revivals?

Ratings? Since when do papers have anything to with ratings?
I STILL don't understand this. Not only is there no argument made in the blog whatsoever, but I find it kind of weird that the editor of BWW would try to (however feebly) talk smack about the Times.
And frankly, since this is a site that deletes you when you disagree too fervently with the powers that be, I think throwing stones about the editorial comments of other sites is .... myopic, perhaps? Especially since the powers that be are seeing a controversy that's not there.
