It was fantastic, for those of you who had the opportunity to be there, you'll know that it's true. The group comprised of Danny Calvert, Jesse Nager, Michael James Scott, Maurice Murphy, Daniel Torres, and Peter Matthew Smith, and all were FABULOUS. Their harmonies are completely out of this world, and the songs they chose were great (Everything from "Lullaby of Broadway" to "Big Yellow Taxi" to "King of New York" from Newsies!)
Their guest performers were also amazing. Antonique Smith really brought the house down with her AMAZING version of "Listen". Seriously, she has a voice on her. She is capable of so many bigger and better things than just Mimi in RENT. Ashley Brown was incredible also, I liked seeing her in something other than Mary Poppins, and her belting was crazy. The Three Graces (supposedly in the studio and going to be famous? Something was said about being the female Il Divo, that's a perfect comparison) were also fantastic, and all so beautiful.
It was an electric night at Birdland last night, and I hope some of you got a chance to check it out, and if not, do yourself a favor and don't miss the next Broadway Boys gig, they're really a fantastic talent that everyone should see.
Oh, and if you're out on the west coast, Danny Calvert as Zanna in Zanna, Don't is something you don't want to miss, I'd even go so far as to say he'll outsing Jai.
