Marc Kudisch showed that he's got chops & the potential for doing Billy Bigelow. It must've taken big brass 1's 'cause of the expectation of the entire aud. I kind'a liked a shaven headed Billy...

Noah's voice unplugged carried easily to where I was sitting upstairs and as always his dancing was a dream. But Noah, you're going away for the rest of the BBTY season to La Jolla! I hope someone wrote a musical for you, or that you got a terrific leading role in revival. You'll be missed.

What a voice & winning ways Eddie K has. He was adorable in "A Rhyme for Angela." I truly enjoyed Eddie & Christiane Noll in their "When The Children Are Asleep" as well as Kerry Butler's "What's the Use of Wondrin".

My find of the evening is Scott Ailing, a sweet, sweet tenor voice. He sang everything with ease. My fav line in 1 of the songs he did was in "From Morning Til Night": "We'll wake up @ 7 & breakfast in heaven." He & Butler were great fun in "Slightly Perfect."

I felt that Ross Patterson's arrangements were very inventive & the muscians played very well.

I laughed a bunch at Scott Siegel's informative & witty intros, including his reading the lyrics to the 2d Act opening instrumental number "Treat A Woman Like A Drum". How interesting that a show "Trio" was closed because it was thought to be about lesbians; that Howard Keel was John Raitt's u/s for "Carousel"; that Raitt sang 8 perfs a wk & never missed a show; that the ticket price for "The Firebrand of Venice" set the opening night ticket price record of $9.60; just imagine how rich one would be if one invested in Tupperware when it started up in 1945; Glass Menagerie opened in 1945; the actors Lithgow & Naughton were born in that year (Scott however did not mention the actresses that were born in that year for fear of death); Hershfeld's daughter Nina was born in 1945; Jackie Robinson signed with the Bklyn Dodgers; and very importantly, we won WWII (BTW the Stage Door Canteen closed in 1945 after serving 3 3/4 mill. people and the hostesses must have dance umpty ump thousands of miles).

I'm sure I left plenty out, but it's late, so I'm hitting the sack.

All in all a very enjoyable, informative, and for me song stealing, evening.

Milla
