I got, to my pure delight, tickets to see Sweeney Todd on January 11th. It was number one on my Christmas list. Added to seeing The Light in the Piazza on December 30 (graduation present) and Spamalot January 12 (extra ticket gift from the boyfriend), I will be having an amazing winter break. (My parents moved to New Jersey, half an hour from the city, from western Pennsylvania when I started college in September, so now I'm psyched for having all these opportunities.)
I got the Mary poppins london recording and the woman in white recording, and some silly compilation Cds. my brother got me one of those best of lloyd webber things, but the cool thing is that it has a bonus dvd of the original Lon Chaney Phantom of the opera.
I also got the Pajama Game movie, and the Candide production with cheno and Lupone.
I also gave tickets to see woman in white, and chita rivera to my Boy friend so technically, those are also gifts for myself.
"I'm an American, Damnit!!! And if it's three things I don't believe in, it's quitting and math."
Well, I'll receive virtually ALL my Christmas stuff probably today or tomorrow, since my mom ordered a bunch of stuff online that didn't come in time, but on Christmas Eve, she ran into (our very small) town and tried to pick up a few things. As a result, I got the highlights OLC recording of Phantom, and the Newsies DVD, which was adorable and made me realize I've wasted many years of my life by not watching Christian Bale movies. I'll update when the package comes.

"`I grow old... I grow old... I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.` What does that mean, Mr. Marlowe?"
"Not a bloody thing. It just sounds good."
He smiled. "That is from the `Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.` Here's another one. `In the room women come and go/Talking of Michael Angelo.' Does that suggest anything to you, sir?"
"Yeah -- it suggests to me that the guy didn't know very much about women."
"My sentiments exactly, sir. Nonetheless I admire T. S. Eliot very much."
"Did you say, 'nonetheless'?"
