gitanas = gypsies... I found this link on the channel... we dare not speak its name. She is a famous flamenco dancer, obviously. My question is... what is the point of this thread? from RC in Austin, Texas
Carmen Amaya
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Posted: 9/1/08 at 8:46pmCarmen Amaya was a star on Broadway in the 1940's and 50's. She had a long run in Knickerbacker Holiday, but she was in several other shows on Broadway and at the Beachcomber. (A night club on or near Broadway that was later the Hawaii Kai or something). Ibdb does not give the full listing her credits. Updated On: 2/3/09 at 08:46 PM
