Posted: 2/23/04 at 9:12pmAs much as I disliked this production I am really glad to hear it is rebounding audience wise. Aot of people really like it. ( something I just don't understand) . I am sure the rebound has alot to do with the fact that they had announced a closing. The next few weeks will tell. Updated On: 2/23/04 at 09:12 PM

I think that it's also due to the fact that tickets to Gypsy are at a 40% discount rate.
I like to think that alot of people just love BP and the show and just couldn't let it go yet. Plus the weather has improved much (with the exception of today) and people are heading to the theatre!
I'm so excited! I'm going tomorrow - can't wait to hear my girl Bernadette!!

Glad to hear it. Hope it will stay on Broadway where it belongs.
A very entertaining show.
I hope it stays open for years!

Posted: 2/25/04 at 5:32pmJust be glad if it lasts through summer so the investors don't loose it all.

Posted: 2/25/04 at 6:27pmIt is no concern of mine. I could care less. But why as a broadway fan would I want them to loose money? I want them to at least come up even so they would once again put their money behind another show.

Posted: 2/25/04 at 6:35pmSo why the portentous earlier post if it is truly no concern of yours? Would you feel vindicated if it loses money? Why as a Broadway fan do you care if they ever make their money back?

I liked the movie with Bette Midler. And I like Bernadette Peters too, but I saw the show with her understudy, Maureen Moore and she was terrific too.
All in all, Gypsy is one of the greatest musicals of all time, and I'm glad to see this revival. It would be great to see it have a nice long run.
