Congrats to Spring Awakening! over 80%, Higher average price and over $500,000. Very good showing in the middle of the slow season.

Generally, attendence AND grosses went up. Much better week. Most shows seemed to have broken even....
Spring Awakening made over $100,000 in profit.
My guess is SPRING AWAKENING is capturing what RENT might otherwise be getting within a certain demographic. Clearly, RENT's age and the arrival of a competitive show like SPRING AWAKENING for similar age target is taking its toll. It's an interesting thesis but I wouldn't know how to prove it without polling at TKTS or outside either the Nederlander or O'Neill.
go SA go!!
BEAUTY continually outsells TARZAN and the nut is much lower.
What the heck is DISNEY thinking?????

They are thinking that they can make more money by licensing out Beauty to local and regional theaters. They can never license Tarzan out to a community theater. Too much bungee jumping and too much Cirque stuff. No theater would do it. They need to keep Tarzan open long enough to sell the tour. Beauty has made its money and they need the theater for "Little Mermaid" (And I know this has all been mentioned before.)
Now I see why vertical Hour is ending 3 weeks early
The house was profusely papered Saturday. Say that fast 3 times
It appears only the Boys seem to be above it all
