I hope Wedding Singer gets back up!
Tarzan in on a decline. I'm sure it will go back up though.

Ditto.
"Interesting choice"

Posted: 7/10/06 at 5:11pmDrowsy??? It's a show that costs about $600K a week to run and it's grossing over $900K+. That's a very healthy profit. What is there to worry about?

re: Drowsy
A few weeks ago, I thought it had crossed over in a big way to a mainstream audience, and was headed to "Jersey Boys"/"Color Purple" heights. Now, I'm worried that once all the "men in chairs" out there see it, there could be a drop-off.

The only logical explanation is that PATTI took a week off from every show on broadway. It must be tough starring in all of them.
Here's hoping for a better week this week Broadway!

Posted: 7/11/06 at 8:41amWell, if I remember correctly, Sweeney costs about 240K to run a week, so it still make 80K this week; not great, but a profit is a profit, and as long as there is no demand for the theater, the producers will leave it open. I believe the spike to 70% last week was because it was listed as possibly Patti's last week if she didn't renew her contract. Hopefully it doesn't dip again when she does Gypsy, and that the summer will drive up numbers for all shows.

Yikes.
When I was at Sweeney last week, it was full except for the last few rows of rear mezz (they moved everyone up). I thought it must've been doing so well.
Inishmore continues to drop- not a good sign for plays on Broadway.
And I thought Faith Healer was pretty much sold out?

Ooh! Everything dropped!
Come on POTO, get back up to above 90%!

Posted: 7/11/06 at 9:11amThe 80s are good for a show like Drowsy. I think we need to get used to Sweeney being in the 50s and 60s. It might not get any better. But at least it recouped. It should last a little while longer.

Posted: 7/12/06 at 12:33amThe wedding singer is not doing bad sales at all and is covering its weekly costs, but it needs to pick up. On the other hand, Sweeney is doing horrible sales.
