As the producer of the Broadway by the Year series, I felt it was only right to let people know that the cast for this Monday's show (June 14th) has significantly changed from what was advertised as recently as Wednesday of this week. Tonya Pinkins had to withdraw from The Broadway Musicals of 1963 because of the demands of Caroline, or Change. She apologized to me (and therefore to you) for having to drop out so late in the game. From the start, I knew that Tonya could not take on too much material so she had only a modest number of songs. As a consequence, other members of our cast volunteered to pick up the slack.
On the heels of Tonya's departure from the cast, I received a call from Robert Cuccioli's manager, informing me that his client had personal family issues that required him to bow out of Monday's concert. I was informed that he was also taking time off from the Paper Mill Playhouse where he's starring in Guys & Dolls. In this case, we needed someone to replace Bob Cuccioli in our lineup because of the nature of the songs he was singing. Within a few hours, we had our man. George Dvorsky, who starred in The Broadway Musicals of 1933, agreed to jump in and take on all of Bob Cuccioli's material. He began rehearsing this afternoon (Friday) for Monday's show. We thank George for his courage and his talent.
We're very sorry to lose both Tonya and Bob and wish them all good things. In the meanwhile, it's always my hope that the audience for Broadway by the Year comes to these concerts because they like what we do and believe that they will see great talent regardless of any particular performer being in the cast. This is the first time we've lost two performers so close to our show date, but I can assure you that the 1963 concert is not diminished in the least by these last minute changes. I hope you'll come and see what Nancy Anderson, Stephen Bogardus, Liz Callaway, George Dvorsky, Euan Morton, Julia Murney, Noah Racey, and director Marc Kudisch have in store for you on Monday night.

I had the pleasure of performing with George Dvorsky. What a gorgeous voice, what a gentleman & easy on the eyes.
I'll be in heaven hearing him sing & watching Noah Racey sing & dance. Stephen Bogardus & Euan Morton...yes! I'm still kicking myself for letting Taboo slip by.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Marc Kudisch's directorial skills are.
Nancy Anderson & Julia Murney never disappoint. & Liz Callaway is a particular fav.
Yippee!
