There's a site out there called "notstarring.com" that lists notable actors who missed out on or turned down certain parts in certain movies.
Let's make a Broadway edition in this thread! List any well-known Broadway actor/actress you know of, along with a significant part that they ended up not playing in a production.
I'll start by adding some entries from the 2006 "A Chorus Line" revival, gathered from the masterful "Every Little Step":

Natascia Diaz and Amy Spanger lost out to Charlotte D'Amboise for the role of CASSIE
Nikki Snelson lost out for the role of VAL
Rachelle Rak lost out for the role of SHEILA
