re: Broadway Pairings...

Gower Champion was "dating" Wandra Richert(Peggy Sawyer) when the original 42ND STREET opened on Broadway. Champion died the day of opening night.

Larry Hagman's mother was Mary Martin.

Michael Bennett was briefly married to Donna McKechnie

Julie Andrews is married to director Blake Edwards

Mary Martin's daughter was in the original cast of PETER PAN

Shirley Jones, stepmother To Patrick Cassidy recently appeared together on Broadway in 42ND STREET

Bea Arthur was married to Gene Saks, director of MAME

Robert Lupone was the original Zach in A CHORUS LINE-brother of Patti Lupone, star of EVITA

I believe Mr. Sondheim is in a relationship with Neil Patrick Harris

Jill O'hara was the original Fran in PROMISES, PROMISES and was replaced by her sister Jenny O'Hara

Uh...where did you hear that?

re: Broadway Pairings...

I "heard" that nowhere. That is first hand knowledge, actually, to anyone that knows either one of them.

re: Broadway Pairings...

Yeah, that would be a May 1948-December romance for the ages.

re: Broadway Pairings...

If true, good for Sondheim. The casting couch is alive and well.

WISH, Shirley Jones is Patrick Cassidy's mother, not stepmother.

Yeah, I just noticed that. She's stepmother to David Cassidy.

NPH + David Burtka = HOT

re: Broadway Pairings...

I agree, but in a weird way, I think the Sondheim/NPH pairing is hotter.

re: Broadway Pairings...

If they are together, it would have had to have just recently happened. I've got my "Paris Letter" playbill right in front of me, and Neil dedicates his performance to "DB."

re: Broadway Pairings...

DB is great looking, no question. Did anyone here see him in the play about the baby?

Anyone know if Michael Arden is attached to anyone?

re: Broadway Pairings...

Not that it means anything, but I noticed that Neil Patrick Harris is playing a role in an upcoming pilot for a sit com on CBS. The main character is played by Josh Radnor. As many of you know, Josh and Neil played lovers in The Paris Letter and spent a good few minutes on stage nude together (sorry I missed it!!).

It started me wondering if Neil and Josh might have a little romance going and if maybe David Burtka is out of the picture. Of course, maybe this doesn't mean anything but it is always fun to speculate.

Here is the info on the pilot in case you are interested:

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (CBS) - Neil Patrick Harris ("Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle") and Jason Segel ("Freaks and Geeks") have both joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about the exploits of a single man (Josh Radnor), as told through his own eyes 20 years later. They'll play Barney and Marshall respectively in the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which also stars Alyson Hannigan. Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Rob Greenberg are the executive producers.

Pilot scheduled to tape at warner bros. studios on thursday, april 7 at 6:00 p.m. p.s.t.
