Karmine Alers...I just think her voice is perfect. Not exactly a powerhouse, but still beautiful and moving.

The good news is I started taking voice lessons last year and when i went in i could not sing at all, and now i'm damn good.(not to be immodest or anything) ok yeah my voice teacher is amazing and she says with some more training i could be a "truly incredible singer"-I guess i had it in me all along. YAY

I wish I could sing...just even a little bit...I have the love of musical theatre but no voice...so that puts me backstage...which I don't mind, but if I could sing...whew.

I would love to have cheno's, heather headly, or basically anybody's voice that could sing...I am not being picky lol.

I'd love to have a "voice" PERIOD. Being a Musical Director and someone who constantly teaches and coaches singers, you'd think I could "kinda" "sorta" sing. Well I can't.

However, as for voices that have been on Broadway that I'm in awe of..............there's way too many but........ I'll name one of each sex that I've actually worked with. So I have good knowledge of their instrument

Male - Mike Eldrid
Female - Gwen Stewart

I could name sooooooooooo many more. Those two people came to mind the fastest. Maybe because I was thinking about them recently but..........not because I think they're the best (but they might be). However, they are STELLAR vocalists.

Idina Menzel, Sarah Brightman, Julie Hanson...

And even though neither of these girls aren't nor have been on Broadway but where in popular musicals, Cécilia Cara and Veerle Casteleyn's voices.

I really love singing with my own voice, but I wouln't mind having the ease of Idina's belt. I also have this friend who can sing anything and she doesn't even seem like she's trying. It's like it comes to her so naturally that it's impossible for her to sing a sour note. In fact, I can't recall hearing a single sour note from her in my life. I know she works/has worked very hard on her voice, but she blows me away everytime she opens her mouth. I'd like to be able to do that. But, with my own voice.

While not Broadway Anthony Warlow's voice is always thrilling..and I'd just love to hear him live on a Broadway stage.

I agree with Warlow - flawless. I sincerely wished we could get him over to our neck of the woods for SOMETHING. The man has not only an amazing range - but can play both high drama and comedy on a dime.

Boy wouldn't he make a great Sweeney Todd, Craig? Martin Charnin said his Warbucks was so inspiring, he even created a new song for him! A friend saw his Phantom in Australia, and this person is not a fan of the show, and said it was the single most amazing musical theater performance they had ever seen, and he saw Merman, Channing, Preston, all of the greats.

I first "heard" about Warlow from the J&H double CD. From there, my admiration just grew and I have all his cd's - even the fun but cheesy Main Event concert. He'd be a great Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Barnum, Styne, etc. I could also see him making a great Beast...

I constantly sit in awe when I watch Kerry Butler sing. I mean, it doesn't even look like she is putting that much energy into it, but a HUGE sound comes out. It is great!!

But, most importantly, gotta get my plug in here lol, I would love the voice of either leads in my show Ragtime, as in Mother, or if I was a guy, Coalhouse, cause they are freaking awesome!! Everyone should come see them this weekend!

Idina Menzel springs to mind...she's unbelievable. I'd like Daphne Rubin-Vega's voice, except the 15-years-ago one where it wasn't quite as gravelly/smoky/whatever.

And if I was a guy, John Tartaglia. re: re: re: re: re: Broadway People Voices You Would Lo

Definitely Idina's....wow...that's all I have to say about that...

I would also love to have Bernadette's voice. She always amazes me whenever I see/hear her perform.
