From JENNIFER CODY's Facebook wall:
OK. So I spent today in Staten Island. The good news is we packed two full cars to the rim and drove there with relative ease.
The bad news is it's really devastated. I've never seen anything like it. Entire areas are just ruined.
We were able to deliver items and bring things directly to people's houses..or what was left of their houses.
I am not being dramatic-it's really shocking.
The Staten Island community is amazing and pulling together and are helping themselves. We never saw the Red Cross or the military at all. These people are setting up donations sights wherever they find dry land. We ended up a school sorting through bags of donations making areas for food, water, clothing, baby stuff, cleaning supplies.
If you have the time, they could use help in clearing furniture and debris and helping to get the supplies that are being donated to actual families that can't get to the sights. The houses that do have electricity are cooking for everyone in the street and giving out free food. They are compiling lists in areas and then going to the shelters and filling those lists and bringing the items back.
It's truly remarkable.
So they don't just need stuff, they need help organizing stuff. The main priority seems to be clean up. They need bleach, paper towels, mops, brooms, masks, sanitizer...anything that will help them remove the mold and mildew from the first floors.
Most of the furniture is ruined and on the street but I fear inclement weather will ruin the donation centers that are set up randomly outside without cover.
We will be taking the rest of the donations that we got and driving them over tomorrow. If you have hands-help! I will keep you updated on each trip we make and info we find out. Thank you all for everything that you brought to both our home and Mark Fisher Fitness. They were very appreciative.

From HUNTER FOSTER:
Thank you everyone who brought things to our home. Jen and co. brought stuff to several locations in Staten Island today. And they needed everything.
They also need volunteers if you know of anyone who can help. We are still taking stuff down there so if anyone wants to drop it off at the MTC rehearsal studio tomorrow on West 43rd street.
Tell them you want to leave something in the "INNER VOICES" rehearsal room.
Items needed:
Bleach
gloves
cleaning products
Mops
Surgical Masks
rakes
shovels
socks
paper towels
garbage bags or contractor bags
They don't need clothes except for XL/L fleece

FYI Upper West and East Siders (Thanks for the info, Ashley): Firehouse Tavern on 85th and Columbus is collecting donations today and tomorrow to be sorted and sent to Rockaways and Staten Island communities in need. They are looking for:
Volunteers to work 4-5 hour shifts to collect and sort donated items. 1-6pm Saturday, 5-10pm Saturday, 11am-4pm Sunday, 3pm-8pm Sunday.
Food donations of non perishable food items: peanut butter, health bars, canned/bagged foods, water, parmelat, etc.
Hygiene items: toothpaste, soap, hand wipes, deodorant,
Clothing: underwear, socks, sweaters, coats
Other: Large garbage bags so those hit hard can bag up the debris
